Overview

Turn GPX / KML / KMZ routes into cinematic 3D map videos: select a region to download satellite imagery, terrain and roads, then design the camera with slide-style keyframes. Built for hiking, cycling, running and travel recaps.

This privacy policy applies to TrekReel. Product delivery for this app happens through the App Store and the linked Hooosberg product website.

Data Handling

Route files and projects are processed on your Mac and are not uploaded. When you select a region, map tiles for that area are downloaded from public map services.

TrekReel Data Flow

TrekReel has no account system, no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics or tracking. Your track files, projects and exported videos are processed on your Mac and are not uploaded to a Hooosberg server.

GPX / KML / KMZ files and projectsOpened and stored on your Mac. They are not sent to any server.

Downloaded map regionsSatellite imagery, terrain, roads and points of interest for regions you select are cached locally in the app's storage so they work offline.

Exports and auto-saveVideos, images, 3D-print files and project files are written only to locations you choose, or to the app's own data folder for auto-save.

SettingsLanguage, theme, data-source and export preferences are stored locally.

Map Data Requests

When you select a region and download it, or export a high-resolution map image, TrekReel requests map data from public services. Those services receive the request itself: the tile coordinates or bounding box of the area you selected, your IP address, and a User-Agent that identifies the app and its version (for example, TrekReel/1.0.5). Your track files are not part of these requests.

TerrainAWS Terrain Tiles (elevation-tiles-prod on Amazon S3).

Roads and points of interestOpenStreetMap data through public Overpass API servers (overpass-api.de, overpass.openstreetmap.fr, maps.mail.ru and overpass.kumi.systems). TrekReel tries a fallback server when one is busy or unavailable.

Custom sourcesIf you enter a custom tile or Overpass address in Settings, requests go to that address and are governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Attribution and licenses for these sources are listed on the Guide, Data Sources & Credits page. Downloaded regions can be used offline; you can delete them in the app at any time.

In-App Purchases

TrekReel Pro is an optional one-time purchase handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Hooosberg does not receive your Apple ID, payment method or billing details, and the app only stores whether Pro is unlocked.

Platform Services

When you download, purchase, update, or review this product through Apple App Store, Apple may process account, payment, device, crash, or store activity data under its own privacy policy.
